I am Mandeep Singh, a farmer from Village Kuthala, Malerkotla (Punjab) and have done Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA). I have been growing Paddy, Wheat, Sugarcane, Maize and a lot of other seasonal crops from quite some time now. The total land that I use for farming is about 20 acre. In my free time, I love to listen to music and my other hobbies are singing and reading books. I also am involved in Dairy Farming wherein I have 13 cows (2 HF cows and 11 Sahiwal cows) along with 2 buffaloes. The fodder to be fed to the animals is grown within the farm itself, which comprises of Guar, Maize and Barley.
As a secondary occupation, I sell milk at a nearby Milk booth in my village. For farming, I use both organic as well as conventional farming styles. At my farm, I make use of modern techniques of farming, such as I make use of a Seeder farm implement for sowing Wheat. I also own a few farming equipment of my own like 2 Tractors, Reapers, Straw Reaper, Trolley, Rotavator etc. All the agricultural produce from my farm is being sold in the nearby Kisan Mandi in my village.
Personal Life: Prior to farming, I also did a job somewhere but somehow wasn’t satisfied and chose to do farming. I am married and we are 4 members in the family, which includes my parents, my wife and myself. My father is also a farmer and my mother & wife are housewives.
